Our production of Jon Fosse’s A SUMMER DAY at the Cherry Lane Theatre ended its outstanding run of 55 performances (including a two week extension) on Saturday, December 8. We are incredibly thankful for the amazing team we had working on this beautiful work, including the actors (Carlo Alban, Karen Allen, McCaleb Burnett, Maren Bush, Pamela Shaw, and Samantha Soule), the director and translator (Sarah Cameron Sunde), and the design team (Oda Radoor, John McDermott, Deb O, Nicole Pearce, Leah Gelpe, Andrew Diaz, Eugenia Furneaux, Katie Fergerson, and Sam Horwith).
Throughout this production, challenges were faced with Superstorm Sandy, but our patrons stepped up and offered Rattlestick support as well as our beloved city with the RECOVERY initiative. Opening night had many special guests, including the Minister of Arts and Culture from Norway! In addition, critics loved the work! Including Ben Brantley of the NY Times who said that it has “a distinctive dramatic momentum unlike any other in NY Theater these days.” Also, the Huffington Post called it “a treat not to be missed.”
We cannot express enough how much we have loved working with this team and giving the gift of theater to our patrons. Thank you for an amazing production and your continuous support of the work here at Rattlestick!
