Our first ever Gala Benefit, at Caroline's on Broadway, celebrating our 13th Anniversary Season (and our big Obie award this year too), took place on Monday, October 1, 2007. Co-Chairs Lawrence Benenson and Doug Nevin kicked off an exciting evening with our Emcee Remy Auberjonois, and performances by Anastasia Barzee, Bill Bowers, Norm Lewis, Craig Lucas, and Aaron Tveit. Thank you to everyone who supported this event! We look forward to next year's gala and hope to see you all back again.

Bonasorte Prize: David Van Asselt announced the creation of the Bonasorte Prize, honoring the memory of playwright and Rattlestick founder, Gary Bonasorte, to be awarded to an emerging playwright for the first time at next year's Gala. The recipient will be selected by a panel of theater professionals.

Our silent auction and impromptu live auction (where Remy elected to auction of the culinary and dish-washing services our Managing Director, Sandra Coudert) raised over $25,000, and Sandra must now prepare two separate private dinner parties for up to six and clean up afterwards.  All for the love of theater.

Coming up in November, Rattlestick will present the New York premiere of Noah Haidle's Rag and Bone, directed by Sam Gold. Jeff and George, mourning the death of their mother, struggle to make ends meet at the family ladder store, which George also utilizes as a front for the black market sale of human hearts, hearts bought and sold for people who either feel nothing or too damn much. The cast features: Michael Chernus, Kevin Jackson, Logan Marshall-Green, Diedre O'Connell, Henry Stram, and Audrey Lynn Weston, and David Wohl. Performances begin Wednesday, November 14.  Opening night is Tuesday, November 20 @ 7p.  Performances are Wed-Sat @ 8p, Sunday @ 5p, with a special 3p Saturday preview on November 17.
