“It's not every day that theatergoers see a play like Rag and Bone. The creators pull off this challenging work effortlessly, putting forth a production that makes sense of the absurd and the incongruous. In other words: Rattlestick Playwrights Theater does it again. If you haven't paid them a visit before, now may be the time.”– NYTheatre.com
In this “diverting and disarming” production, “director Sam Gold helms a vivid cast that is flawlessly attuned to the deadpan cartoon rhythms of Haidle's dialogue.” –Newsday
Rag and Bone is “directed with affection and wit by Sam Gold” and is “full of unexpected humor, some of it dark, some of it thought-provoking, some of it surprisingly touching.” –EDGE New York City
“A terribly satisfying evening of theatrical chaos” –Theater News Online |

Rattlestick is proud to be presenting the American premiere of War, the internationally acclaimed play by Lars Norén, Europe’s most produced living playwright.
War, in a translation by Marita Lindholm Gochman, is set in a year of ethnic cleansing. A mother and her two daughters, their father missing and presumed dead, think only of survival. When the father returns unexpectedly, they must confront a world gone completely wrong. Through this simple family tale, Norén creates a powerful human statement about the realities of living through war and genocide in our century.
In conjunction with this production, a panel discussion addressing various issues related to genocide will be held at the New York University School of Law. Staged readings of other plays by Lars Norén, as well as film screenings, are also planned as part of this unique project.
Tues, Jan 29 thru Sun Mar 2.
Perfs Tues - Sat @ 8, Sun @ 3 (thru Feb 10) Sun @ 5 (after Feb 10)
Opening night is Monday, February 11 @ 7
Panel Discussion Tues Feb 19, Greenberg Lounge (NYU School of Law)
Special Preview Benefit: Tuesday Feb 5 @ 6:30p

Rattlestick is on a roll. Our 2006/07 Season was one of our most successful to date, in the past twleve months we grew our staff, built out our office and bar, and added three new board members, and just this May we were honored with the Ross Wetzsteon Memorial Obie Award. Though not the first Obie awarded for Rattlestick work, this award is the first to recognize us purely for our success with our mission: developing and producing innovative new plays.
And we wouldn’t have been able to do any of it without your help and support. By attending our readings, productions, preview benefits and our Gala, by telling and emailing your friends about Rattlestick and our work, and by your direct financial support, you have helped make Rattlestick what it is today. So, for all that, we would like to say thank you!
This December, we hope you will consider participating in our 2007/08 annual fundraising drive, and that you will also continue to come to our shows, subscribe to our season and, keep on spreading the word about Rattlestick to the world.
