Michael and Janie Hubbard are really, really rich, really, really successful, but all they really, really want is a baby. After years of trying, their doctor finally gives them the news they’ve always wanted to hear. Sort of. A little comedy about a big problem.

Billy Finnegan’s play, Esther Demsack, premiered at the 2008 Summer Play Festival at the Public Theater, after first being read at New York Theatre Workshop. Other plays include Any Solid Color Other Than Black, which was developed at MCC Theater and recently read as part of Geva Theatre Center’s WHAT’S NEXT: Plays in Progress Fall Reading Series; Little Boy Lost, which was read as a finalist in Reverie Productions’ 2009 Next Generation Playwriting Contest; At the End, which was part of Theater for the New City’s 2008 “New City, New Blood” reading series; and The Dander of Female Poplars, or One Queens Parade. He is currently developing a television pilot for the USA Network entitled “Busy Bodies.”

Alex Timbers is an OBIE Award-winning director.
