Playwright Adam Rapp uses the chemical term “finer noble gases” (gases that do not readily attach to other elements to form a compound) as a metaphor to describe the isolation of the characters in this play performed with live rock music who are lost amid pop culture, the pain of life, and the highs and lows of early adulthood.
